We're often asked what a typical day looks like in our studio. There is a predictable rhythm to the chaos, a dance between the loud, messy work and the quiet, focused creation. It’s a day-long conversation between wood and ink, and it’s the heart of our collaborative process.

The Rhythm of the Day

  • The Sawdust Begins. The day starts with the sounds of power tools. I’m sanding a table slab, mixing resin, or using the planer to prepare a piece of raw wood. It’s a physical, dusty, and sometimes loud process. It all starts with the foundation, the structure that will hold everything else together.

  • The Ink Emerges. As the sun streams in, the noise of the power tools gives way to a quieter focus. My partner is hunched over a drawing table, a pen in hand, meticulously creating a new mandala or digitizing a design for a batch of new stickers. This is the part where the fine details within a piece are born.

  • The Bridge: There are moments when our two worlds intersect. We might stand over a freshly cured table, discussing where to place a vinyl inlay, or debating the perfect color for a resin pour. These collaborations are when the two halves of our brand truly become one, turning raw materials into a piece of art that reflects our combined vision.

Pro Tip

Finding a balanced workflow is key. We’ve learned to schedule our noisy work and our quiet, focused work at different times, so we can each concentrate without distraction.

Final Thoughts

Our studio is a place of contrast, where the ruggedness of sawdust and the precision of ink create something new and beautiful. It's a journey we take every day, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
